2007 TSPRA Gold Star Award


2007-2008

The Irving ISD Website at www.irvingisd.net was chosen for the seventh straight year to receive the TSPRA Gold Star Award! 

This year eight districts received Gold Stars in the category of "school districts with more than 30,000 students".   Irving was joined by Austin ISD, Cypress-Fairbanks ISD, Dallas ISD, Garland ISD, Killen ISD, Mesquite ISD and Plano ISD.

 

2007 National Best of the Web Award


2007

Irving ISD has been awarded the Best of the Web award in the K‑12 District Website category from the Center for Digital Education. The website – www.irvingisd.net – is one of four K‑12 district websites in the nation to receive this distinction. The other K‑12 district winners are: Clayton County, Georgia; Hillsborough City, California; and Olathe, Kansas.

 

2006 TSPRA Gold Star Award


2006-2007

The Irving ISD Website at www.irvingisd.net was chosen for the sixth straight year to receive the TSPRA Gold Star Award! 

This year, the competition was divided into three categories: school districts with 10,000 and less students, school districts with 10,000 to 30,000 students, and school districts with more than 30,000 students.

Only three districts received Gold Stars in the category of school districts with more than 30,000 students.   Irving was joined by Clear Creek ISD and Lewisville ISD whose websites also received Gold Stars.

 

2005 National Best of the Web Award


2005

Irving ISD website received national recognition from the Center for Digital Education in its 2005 Best of the Web Contest and Digital Education Achievement Awards program.  The Irving ISD website tied for first place as the nation’s top K-12 District website, along with DeKalb County School System in Georgia.

“This year was another tough year selecting the finalists,” said Marina Leight, Vice President of the Center for Digital Education. “More and more in the education sector we are seeing well-designed sites offering a high level of service and functionality to the user. There is no limit to how we can serve students, faculty, parents and administrators better and more efficiently with technology. This year's winners have demonstrated very thoughtful approaches to both learning and creating a sense of community for the user.”

The Irving ISD Website at www.irvingisd.net was chosen for the fifth straight year to receive the TSPRA Gold Star Award!

The Irving Independent School District was among eight school districts in Texas who received the Gold Star Award at the Texas School Public Relations Association Conference in Austin in the spring of 2006.

This year, the competition was divided into three categories: school districts with 10,000 and less students, school districts with 10,000 to 20,000 students, and school districts with more than 20,000 students.

In the category of school districts with more than 20,000 students, Irving was joined by the following districts in receiving Gold Stars: Austin ISD, Clear Creek ISD, Dallas ISD, Mesquite ISD, Plano ISD, Round Rock ISD, and Spring ISD.

 

2004 National NSPRA Award


2004-2005

The Irving ISD website received national recognition from the National School Public Relations Association this summer. The district won an Award of Honorable Mention for its website (irvingisd.net).

The Irving Independent School District was among eleven school districts in Texas who received the Gold Star Award at the Texas School Public Relations Association Conference in Austin in the spring of 2005.  In the category of school districts with more than 20,000 students, Irving was joined by the following districts in receiving Gold Stars: Austin ISD, Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, Garland ISD, Lewisville ISD, Mansfield ISD, Mesquite ISD, Midland ISD, Northside ISD, Plano ISD, and Round Rock ISD.

2003 National Best of the Web Award

The Irving ISD website was selected as the third place winner in the Center for Digital Education's eighth annual national Best of the Web contest. The Center for Digital Education evaluates hundreds of K-5 school, higher education, state, federal, and local government web sites each year across the nation and awards prizes to the top five sites in each category.

Irving ISD is proud to be the recipient of this prestigious award.

The Irving ISD Website was awarded the Cool School of the Week Award for the week of February 18, 2004, by EducationWorld.Com.

The Irving Independent School District was among 15 school districts who received the Gold Star Award at the Texas School Public Relations Association Conference in Austin in the spring of 2003.   Irving was joined by Austin, Bandera, Carrollton-Farmers Branch, Dallas, Frisco, Garland, Harlingen, Humble, Hurst-Euless-Bedford, Keller, Northside, Plano, Richardson, and Round Rock who also were awarded the Gold Star Award.

2001 TSPRA Gold Star Award


2001-2002

The Irving ISD internet webpage was among six school districts in Texas with a student enrollment over 10,000 to win Gold Star Awards at the Texas School Public Relations Association Conference in Austin in the spring of 2002.

Irving joined Hurst-Euless-Bedford, Katy, Keller, Northside and Plano as the top Internet home pages for school districts.  Eight other districts in the same category received Silver Star Awards and those districts are Austin, Carrollton-Farmers Branch, Cypress-Fairbanks, Fort Bend, Fort Worth, Garland, McAllen and Tyler.

Irving ISD does a good job of communicating with its employees and constituents. At least that was the verdict of the judges at the annual convention of the Texas School Public Relations Association in Austin.

IrvingISD.Net was awarded the GOLD Artsy Web Award.  The judges at Artsy evaluated the web based on the criteria: Effectiveness (20pts), Functionality (20pts), Design (20pts), Content (20pts). and Originality (20pts).  The Irving ISD web scored 94 points.

 


2003-2004
