SEARCHES OF PERSONS AND LOCKER

Whenever a school official has reason to believe that a student is
in possession of illegal or unauthorized materials he/she may be
searched. Canines may be used for sniffing out contraband in
school-owned property and automobiles parked on school property.
Canines shall not be used to search a student. Metal detectors may
be used in random searches of students and on students believed to
be in possession of a weapon.
Electronic surveillance may be used to monitor student behavior and
school owned property. Student behavior recorded on electronic
surveillance equipment is subject to all provisions of the student
code of conduct.
