Classroom Pizza Parties Serve Thousands
Pioneered by the Irving ISD Food Service Department, classroom pizza parties saw explosive growth in the district in the 2009-2010 school year.  When the state’s nutrition policy took pizza parties as a motivational tool away from most schools, the IISD Food Service Department came to the rescue and developed in-classroom pizza parties.  Irving campus administrators, from high schools to early childhood schools, now use this innovative program as a way to reward students, motivate students, or to otherwise positively impact and influence student performance and behavior.
