Nimitz Shop of Horrors
The Nimitz High School Choir will
perform Little Shop of Horrors for its annual musical.
Come watch as business blooms at
Mushnik's Flower Shop when an exotic plant named Audrey II (Jeremiah
Boisclair) arrives and rocks the world of bashful employee Seymour
Krelborn (Ben Kendall). But Audrey II turns out to be a carnivorous "mean
green mother from outer space" who forces Seymour to choose between fame,
fortune, or the kindhearted Audrey (Jodi Jungman).
A Greek chorus of street-wise
smart-alecks (Janna McDuffie, Wendy Mason, Krista Lundquist, and Jessica
Martinez) tell the tale.
Performances are Friday and
Saturday, March 1 and 2 at 7 p.m. in the Nimitz Auditorium. Tickets are $5
and available at the door or by calling the Nimitz Choir Department at
972-273-8600.

Oh, The Places You’ll Go
Visitors to Lee Elementary’s Family
Literacy Night January 29 took a trip around the world without leaving the
campus. Families traveled through seven reading stations, with activities
at each station.
At the Whistle Stop Station,
families sang karaoke. At Grand Central Station, families read to receive
tickets to other booths. And at the SS Titanic, families tested whether
objects float.
The Irving Public Library was on
hand to distribute new library cards.
