Mrs. Cheryl Jennings, principal of John R. Good Elementary School, came to visit the K/1 classes dressed as Baba from The Mitten. Mrs. Jennings read the story to the students as the character Baba would have shared the story. The reading left all the students with a wonderful memory of this delightful story.

Lively Mittens

Lively students visited the Irving Library last month and enjoyed a reading of The Mitten by Jan Brett. Students brought mittens and hats that were used to decorate a Christmas tree in the library. After the holidays, the mittens and hats were given to Pierce Early Childhood School. The project was coordinated by librarians Melanie Hollabaugh and Karen Kessel.
