Bob Presley
Named Outstanding Graduate
Bob
Presley, a 1961 graduate of Irving High School, was honored as an
Outstanding Graduate. Following graduation from Irving High, Presley
attended Southern Colorado State University then transferred to
Hardin-Simmons University where he earned a bachelor of science degree.
He completed graduate studies at North Texas State University and
conducted post-graduate work at West Texas State University and
Southwest Texas State University. Presley began his 43-year career in
education in Irving ISD at Travis Junior High School as a history
teacher and coach. In 1967 he moved to Big Spring ISD and then
transferred to Tulia ISD in 1970. In May 2008, Presley retired as deputy
superintendent for human resources for Hayes Central Independent School
District in Kyle, Texas, where he has served since 1989. Presley is
married to the former Judy Ann Schnack, also a 1961 graduate of Irving
High. He and Judy have two children and four grandchildren.

Altiris Licensing for deployment solution and application control to
support district desktop and laptops computers purchased from En
Pointe at a cost of $64,138. |

Approved Resolution #07-08-232 authorizing the
Automatic Translation Grant application for online access to the IBM
WebSphere Translation Server. |

Approved Ordinance #07-08-07 of the Irving ISD Board
of Trustees authorizing a proposed tax rate, calling a public
meeting for 7 p.m., August 25 to discuss and consider adopting the
district’s budget for the fiscal year 2008-2009 and adopting a
proposed tax rate, and authorizing other matters related to the
subject. |

Approved Resolution #07-08-233 awarding contract for
construction manager-at-risk on 2007 Phase I Package “B” and “C”

Fathers, Strong Families, presented by Jose Villaseñor,
parent/student services program director, and Juan Carlos Martinez,
parent involvement coordinator. |
