Trustees
Name Lone Finalist for Superintendent
 At
the special called meeting of the Irving ISD Board of Trustees
February 18, trustees voted 6 to 1 to name Dr. Dana T. Bedden as
the lone finalist for the position of IISD Superintendent of
Schools. Bedden currently serves as superintendent of
Richmond County School System in Augusta, Georgia. A native of
Florida, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree from University
of Florida (UF) and Master of Education degree from Pennsylvania
State University. He earned a Doctor of Education in educational
leadership and policy studies from Virginia Tech University.

Irving Leadership Profile Report
This report presents the findings of the
Community Involvement Assessment conducted on line and in person
November 9–12, 2009 by Benjamin Canada, Butch Felkner, William
Smith, and Severita Sanchez from Texas Association of School
Boards (TASB) Executive Search Services (ESS). The consultants
met with administrators, faculty, community members, students,
staff, and other Irving residents to collect the data.

Community Input
Meetings for Superintendent Search
(November
10, 11, & 12) The Irving Independent School District Board
of Trustees has begun work to select a new superintendent of
schools with assistance from the Texas Association of School
Boards Executive Search Services. As a part of that process, a TASB
consultant would like to meet with various groups to begin
developing the qualifications and characteristics of the ideal
superintendent for Irving ISD. To provide the public an
opportunity to offer input, a number of meetings have been
scheduled. |

10, 11, y 12 de noviembre) La
Mesa Directiva del Distrito Escolar de Irving ha
empezado a trabajar para elegir a un nuevo
superintendente para las escuelas de nuestro distrito
con la asistencia de Servicios de Búsqueda Ejecutiva de
la Asociación de Mesas Directivas de Texas (TASB). Como
parte de este proceso, el asesor de TASB quiere reunirse
con varios grupos para empezar a desarrollar las
calificaciones y características del superintendente
ideal para el Distrito Escolar de Irving. Para
proveer la oportunidad al público a que ofrezca su
contribución, se organizaron varias juntas. |
