Mission Statement
The mission of the Irving Independent School District Bilingual/ESL program is to ensure that all language learners achieve long term academic success linguistically, academically, and cognitively within a socially and culturally supportive environment.
Goal of the Bilingual Education Program
The goal of the Bilingual Education program is to develop primary and English language proficiency using second language methodology through explicit instruction in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in all academic areas.
Goal of the English as a Second Language (ESL) Program
The goal of the ESL program is to develop English language proficiency using second language methodology through explicit instruction in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in all academic areas.
