HIPPY
HIPPY (Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters) is a free home- based literacy program for kids age 3, 4, and 5. Home Instructors make weekly visits to teach parents how to use the curriculum with their preschoolers.   The literacy based curriculum is used to help kids master school readiness skills.

Libraries for Irving ISD HIPPY Students

The Irving HIPPY program has started a collaboration with the Irving Independent School District to have a lending library.  We have books in our HIPPY center that our parents can check out and read to their children.  In addition, the school district has issued all the HIPPY parents library cards and access to check-out/return library books to ANY of the elementary schools in the district.

We are extremely excited about this partnership because it allows our parents to have the books that are listed as suggestions in the extension activities and other supplemental literature. Parenting books and science experiment kits are also resources that the parents can check out.
